Should You Have a Job?
by Deborah Ellington

1. If you were a cashier in a drug store and a customer was rude to you, would your response be:
Ma'am, I am so sorry, let me give you a 10% discount for your inconvenience.
Give her your most hate-filled look and ring her up V-E-R-Y slowly and make about eighteen mistakes on you register so you have to keep starting over.
Fling whatever is in arm's reach into the customer's face and scream, "FUCK YOU! Find another fucking cashier!" and stalk out of the store.

2. If you worked in a bar and the manager told you to clean the repulsive men's room, would you:
Ask, "Where's the mop?"
Go to another employee and say the manager told you to tell them to do it.
Ignore her, get really drunk on the house, and leave halfway through the evening with one of the bar's patrons.

3. If you worked at a frame shop and the owner accused you of hanging out outside, while you were on the clock, would you:
Beg his forgiveness and promise that it would never happen again.
Say, "I was looking for a customer who walked out without her credit card."
Scream, "Why were you checking up on me? Don't you trust me? I can't work anywhere that I'm not trusted! I quit!"

4. If you were a door-to-door vacuum cleaner salesperson and people kept slamming doors in your face, would you:
Keep trying. Persistence pays off.
Take the demo vacuum home to clean and shampoo your disgusting carpets for free, and then quit.
Break into the next house, tie the family to chairs with electrical tape, give them a full demonstration including the dog-shampooing attachment, remove their credit card from their wallet, and fill the forms out for them, all the while screaming obscenities.

5. If you were a secretary and someone on the phone implied that you were not taking messages, as your boss had not gotten back to them, would you say:
"Oh, I'm so sorry, ma'am, I'm sure she's just very busy. Is there anything I can help you with?
"You want me to take another message or what?"
"She probably didn't get back to you 'cause she doesn't like you and I can see why as you are the most obnoxious annoying person I've ever had the displeasure of speaking with, so why don't you GET OFF MY FUCKING BACK!
